Michael Tobin
Managing Director, Investment Committee Member
Michael is responsible for the development and management of all private equity fund investment activity at Vantage and its authorised representatives. Since establishing Vantage in 2004, Michael has managed Vantage’s funds share of investment into over $14.5 billion of Australian Private Equity funds resulting in more than $9.4 billion of equity funding across 189 underlying portfolio companies.
Michael has over 30 years’ experience in private equity management, advisory and investment as well as in management operations. Michael was formerly Head of Development Capital and Private Equity at St George Bank where he was responsible for the management and ultimate sale of the bank’s Commitments and investments in $140m worth of St George branded private equity funds. Michael also established the bank’s private equity advisory business, which structured and raised private equity for corporate customers of the bank. Michael holds a BE (UNSW), an MBA (AGSM) and a Diploma of Financial Services (AFMA) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Non-Executive Director, Investment Committee Member
Jonathan has more than 23 years of experience in direct investing in private equity and private capital funds management across six private equity funds totalling A$1.3 billion in capital commitments.
Jonathan is currently a Managing Director and Investment Committee member of Pollination, a global investment and advisory firm. Jonathan was previously a director of CHAMP Ventures, having joined the firm at its foundation in 2000. At CHAMP Ventures Jonathan managed the acquisition, transformation and ultimate realisation of some of the highest performing investments of the firm including SG Fleet, Amdel, Australian Portable Buildings and Dexion. Jonathan built strong bilateral relationships with founders and CEOs and developed a reputation for personal integrity in capital markets. Jonathan left the firm in 2016 to establish Odyssey Private Equity, another top performing Australian mid-market private equity firm.
Jonathan holds a BEng (Hons1) from The University of Sydney and an MBA (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

Rod is the immediate past Chairman Emeritus of Corrs Chambers Westgarth, a leading Australian law firm and has significant board and advisory experience. His current board positions include; Chairman of Chubb Insurance Australia Limited, Chairman of BGP Holdings PLC, Director of Destination NSW, a Director of Corporation Airports America Inc, Chairman of Shaw Vision Pty Limited and Australia Media Corp Pty Limited.
Rod was also the Chief Executive Officer of Sydney’s successful Olympic bid and a Director of the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games. Rod was awarded membership of the Order of Australia for services to Law and the Community in 1990. In 2013 Rod was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to the community through contributions to a range of organisations and to sport, particularly through leadership.

James has over 35 years of management, assurance and advisory experience and was a partner for 21 years in PricewaterhouseCoopers financial services practice. He worked principally with ASX200 investment management and real estate clients, as well as consumer, industrial, pharmaceutical and mining businesses.
He has experience in ASX listings, equity and debt raisings, M&A transactions, due diligence and assurance engagements. He was a member of PricewaterhouseCoopers global real estate management team.
He is currently a Director of Pymble Golf Club and a Principal of FinStream P/L, an online education provider to the financial services sector.

Head of Distribution
Chris has over 25 years’ experience servicing institutional, intermediary and high-net-worth clients across Australia and Asia, spanning a broad range of asset classes. He has led sales and marketing functions for leading global asset managers and also founded an Asia-Pacific-based asset management business.
Prior to joining Vantage, Chris was Head of Distribution at Aura, where he was responsible for capital raising across alternative assets, leading the wealth business, and managing the firm’s high-net-worth client base.
Before Aura, Chris held senior roles at BNY Mellon, Credit Suisse, Barclays Capital and Goldman Sachs JBWere, where he was responsible for the engagement and management of asset management clients. During this time, he focused primarily on raising capital for alternative strategies, including hedge funds, quantitative and algorithmic strategies, property, credit and private equity.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from FINSIA. He has previously held qualifications from the ASCPA (CPA), Type 1, 4 and 9 licences from the SFC (Hong Kong), CMFAS accreditation to deal and advise in financial securities in Singapore, as well as RG146 certification in Australia.

Investment Director
Oliver has over 10 years of direct mid-market private equity experience, having worked in both London and Sydney. He started his career in investment banking as a member of the financial sponsors group, where he advised private equity clients across a range of transactions.
At Vantage, Oliver is responsible for managing the investment team’s activities and works across the firm’s private equity programs. This involves the origination and evaluation of new investment opportunities, transaction execution, and portfolio management of primary,
co-investment, and secondary investments.
Before joining Vantage, Oliver was at Next Capital and Odyssey Private Equity, two leading Australian mid-market private equity firms. Prior to this, he was with Sovereign Capital, a UK-based mid-market private equity firm, having previously worked in HSBC’s investment banking division.
Oliver holds a first-class Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter.

Investment Director
Paul has extensive experience in M&A and private equity, having advised on cross-border and domestic transactions for over ten years. He has worked closely with mid-market private equity firms on buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as various restructures and refinancing events. Paul also spent several years in London, advising large European-based private equity firms on significant global and European transactions.
Throughout his career, Paul has supported clients in navigating complex commercial and structuring considerations, helping to mitigate value risks across portfolio opportunities. He is well-versed in a wide range of capital and financial instruments and has deep expertise in designing capital structures that enable commercially viable and tax-efficient repatriation of funds.
At Vantage, Paul is responsible for assessing potential private equity, co-investment and secondary investment opportunities. His role also includes developing and delivering investment submissions to the Investment Committee, monitoring and evaluating underlying fund investments, sourcing investor opportunities, and supporting new structuring ideas for Vantage funds and products.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting and International Business, from the University of Technology Sydney. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Maximilian is responsible for sourcing, assessing and executing private equity investments across primary, co-investment and secondary strategies. He plays a pivotal role in structuring tailored fund solutions that enable both domestic and international investors to access Australia’s private equity landscape.
In addition to his core investment responsibilities, Maximilian is occasionally involved in broader business operations, helping drive the successful execution of firm-wide initiatives and uphold enterprise best practices.
He is an active Committee Member, Panellist and Event Organiser for the Emerging Leaders cohort of the Australian Investment Council – the voice of private capital in Australia – which champions the growth of thousands of businesses across a broad spectrum of industries through private equity, venture capital and private credit.
Maximilian holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Griffith University.

Investment Analyst
David is responsible for the analysis and reporting of Vantage’s underlying investments on an ongoing basis, as well as the assessment of potential Primary, Co-investment and Secondary Private Equity opportunities for Vantage’s fund entities.
His role includes monitoring and distributing each Vantage Fund’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial and investor reports, and preparing Board presentations and Investment Committee reports for each fund entity.
David previously worked in CDPQ’s Infrastructure Investment team, where he was involved in the CWP Renewables transaction and covered the Port of Brisbane as part of his asset management responsibilities. Prior to CDPQ, he worked in the Project Finance team at Norton Rose Fulbright, assisting in the development, financing and legal due diligence of renewable energy projects.
David holds an Bachelor of Laws and Commerce from the University of Sydney and was a recipient of the Scholar Chancellor’s Award and New Colombo Mobility Grant.

Chief Financial Officer
Jin Wye is responsible for the accounting, compliance and management of fund investment administration across Vantage’s Private Equity Fund of Funds entities, as well as direct fund investment vehicles.
His role includes the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and investor reports for each Vantage fund, as well as the preparation of Board presentations and Investment Committee reports. Jin also supports the preparation of investment submission reports for new underlying fund investments. In addition, he manages the tax compliance and year-end audits for the Vantage group of management companies and fund entities.
Prior to joining Vantage, Jin was an Audit Manager at PwC in Sydney, where he was responsible for delivering high-quality audits in line with Australian Accounting Standards across the asset management, funds management and real estate sectors. He also has experience with regulatory matters in Australia, including AFSLs, Compliance Plans and GS007 control reports. Before that, Jin worked at EY in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in a similar role, excluding responsibilities related to Australian regulatory and reporting standards.
Jin holds a Bachelor of Business and Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance from Monash University. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Senior Financial Accountant
Jack is Vantage’s Senior Financial Accountant, reporting directly to the CFO. He plays a critical role in accounting, compliance, and fund investment administration across Vantage’s Private Equity Fund of Funds entities.
Since beginning his career in tax accounting, Jack has developed strong technical expertise across accounting and advisory. He gained valuable experience at Grant Thornton in the Business Tax and Advisory team, where he supported a diverse range of domestic and international clients with their Australian tax obligations and broader financial operations.
Jack holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Accounting from Macquarie University and is currently completing his Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) qualification.

Investor Relations Manager
Alicia is the Investor Relations Manager at Vantage Asset Management and is responsible for all investor-related matters. Alicia works closely with Vantage’s Distribution Team and various registry providers to ensure the highest level of service is delivered across the firm’s full product suite.
Alicia has over 10 years’ experience in the funds management industry. Prior to joining Vantage, she worked at Sydney-based small and mid-cap equities investment manager Ophir Asset Management, where she led the Investor Relations function, including investor reporting, communications and marketing. Before that, she was part of the team at ASX-listed fund manager Elanor Investors Group, where she worked closely with the Executive Team on corporate communications, including annual reporting, ASX releases, press, and website content.
Alicia holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Media Communications from the University of New South Wales.
